| What ADB is doing in the
Urban Sector?
Problems in the urban areas are complex requiring interventions that are multi-component or integrated
in approach. Integrated projects support investments across many sub-sectors including solid waste
management, drainage, urban roads and bridges, slum improvement and environmental sanitation, water
supply, and sewerage and wastewater management. Capacity building, introduction of reforms, new
financial approaches are also required to sustain development in urban areas.
